So I'm playing the 2019 mod with perez and stroll.
Only I edited stroll to 2 star experience, 2 star quickness, 5 star reliability and 18 years old. Wanted him to start as a bit of a liability and slow and develop into a hero.
Yeah so for 2 races he crashed on the 2nd lap. I decided I just wanted him to finish a race and notice so many people crash he could get points just for finishing. So I put him to minimum push and almost minimum tyre wear to see where he ended up.
He spun off on lap 17. Oh well that's an improvement! Then he span off on lap 17 the next race. Bit of a coincidence but oh well. It's 10 races later and he spins off on lap 17 every race. Something is broken.
For comparison perez is leading the championship and never out of the top 3. Same set up.
Anyone heard of anything like this? Could going easy on the tyres be setting off a ticking time bomb every time? I notice the tyre temps are low just before he spins off. I tried less fuel in the car, ease off, let others pass... same result.
Is it possible somethings got in the code for this driver and he's cursed to crash on lap 17 every time.

if you reduce the tyre usage he will have tyre operating out of optimal temperature and spin every time

if you reduce the tyre usage he will have tyre operating out of optimal temperature and spin every time Thank you! Did wonder if it was that, just thought it strange that it always happened lap 17. Guessing maybe the game has a line of code that basically says on certain laps, like 17 check to see how much time they've spent with tyres at low temps if its above a certain % of the race then spin. I actually had a race where I put both Perez and Stroll on low tyre use and they both span off the track at the exact same time on lap 17. Should have been the clue! Interestingly I put Perez slightly on the lower middle of tyre use and his tyre temps do go low but it never effects him, wonder if there is a threshold at how low it can be before it guarantees a spin. Could I put tyre pressure up and tyre use down to counteract counteract effects?

i think it depends on driver reliabilty luck and inteligence how many lap they can drive with an usntable car

It sounds like his tyres will be worn to a certain level after 17 laps, and the tyres will also be outside of the optimal temperature zone, as you mentioned. I believe Perez lasted longer because he is a better driver than Stroll and will be able to handle the situation, whereas Stroll will not.
I remember advising people over the years that informing drivers to lower their tyre usage could cause them to spin-off. In fact, I've advised many people not to touch any of the sliders related to tyres, fuel, or push level because it's known to cause strange things to happen.
