Hello!
I might have missed that kind of information in this forum, but is there any effect on car handling and car performance in the scope of 2023 mod? As for handling what I mean is does the next year's car handling depend on something else than ability of chief designer? Perhaps chief engineer/mechanic has his influence or maybe also other aspects, like eg. state of factory facilities, play some role? In terms of car perfomance, is there any adjustment to the performance curve in comparison to the default one (that can be checked in GPW Edit tool)? Do other factors, like power of engine, technology stats or driving aids levels, have any significant influence on competitiveness during the season? In the base version of the game it seems to be rather straightforward - get the best chief designer, produce 100% of new chassis and that's it. All the other different kinds of upgrades seem to be rather insignificant. In general these topics are a bit vague, so I would be grateful if you could elaborate a bit more on these questions from the 2023 mod perspective. Thank you in advnace!
Best regards,

Best regards, Hi, a month late, but I'll try to answer what I can from this. - Next year's handling is influenced in good part by the Technical Director/Chief Engineer, a bit by the Chief Designer (his role is mostly Car Upgrades now) and has a bit of RNG. The factory it self doesn't really matter, factory and facilities only alter how fast the different design phases go.
- In terms of car performance, the curve was edited although I'm not particularly sure how, at least I don't know it well enough to describe it. It can be checked on GPWEdit
- Most of the components alter performance one way or another. The biggest is the Car Handling rating % and the Engine's Power rating. Everything else does give slight benefits to raw performance, but some improve other characteristics. For example, Brakes Performance and Power Brakes improve attacking and defending. Traction Control improves race starts and tire wear and so on. Electronics, Hydraulics and Gearbox do improve performance a slight bit, but not much. Of course, the driver aids aren't called in the 2023 mod, but their effects are the same.
- And yeah, the game is generally vague regarding what parts do, even in the manual. It's just not too clear what everything does other than "If this is higher, that's good".
