This topic contains download links to all known GPM2 mods. If you want to see a mod added to the list, please reply in the topic. I do have a slight question-why, from all the mods of the 2000's (especially by GPM2World), the 2007 is "unfinished"? I mean, to me is the most complete one out of the pre-2009 era. Like, in the 2008 mod Super Aguri still had the 2007 car (just as well Toyota, McLaren, Renault, BMW, and probably Ferrari as well?).

The 2007 Mod has menu pictures from the 2006 Mod, and most of the news pictures are either from 2004 or 2005. Basically only the Starfire Editor side of things is mostly finished. Then again, the 2006 Mod also borrows all of its news pictures from 2004/05 (granted, it never got beyond Beta stage), and even 2005 borrows some from 2004!

But, then again, the 2008 Mod borrows some cars from 2007! Eventually this was the last mod that borrowed something from its ancestor, since from 2009 everything, and literally, everything changed-oh, and hey! I gotta thank them for releasing, at least the 3 we've got, the templates for the cars... Bet they would never have guessed someone like me would keep using the BMW one almost 11 years later to keep making GPM2 cars (and I'm ready perfectly to make the 2020 cars on it too)!

Not to mention that the older GPM2 World mods use the original tracks

Not to mention that the older GPM2 World mods use the original tracks To be fair, at the time track editing wasn't even possible yet. So for their own time just having updated graphics and data could be considered a "complete" mod.

So for their own time just having updated graphics and data could be considered a "complete" mod. Well, considering that from a original tracks' based mod (2008) to a new and complete overhaul of new tracks (Marina Bay, Sahkir, Yas Marina, Sepang, Indianapolis, Hockenheimring [these three already been done in the past?] and Istanbul) in 2009, it's quite the difference! And I'm pretty sure they left Jerez in there because they probably couldn't do Valencia (thanks to its bridges?).

I was going to remaster some of the mods, but then I've realized that we don't have the hex editing guide anymore

Yeah when we made the 2019 mod I managed to work out a lot of the hex editing stuff again and thankfully kept a note of most of it all I just need to put it all together in a guide again.

Added LRGDAID.EDY, this should be put in the main folder of all pre-2009 mods to fix the Driver Aids screen glitch.

Hi! Just have a quick question.
I'm trying to mod something with the Starfire Carset Editor, but when I save my .gcd file and then try to Import it into the game, the original .gcd file appears without the changes I made.
What did I do wrong?
Thanks!

I'm trying to mod something with the Starfire Carset Editor, but when I save my .gcd file and then try to Import it into the game, the original .gcd file appears without the changes I made. What did I do wrong? Thanks! That's because you don't need to save it as .gcd, but as .gcf in order to get the changes. To save (and then import it to the game) you need to use the buttons with the arrows on them, and then; after you saved it, in-game all you need to do is, on the screen where you choose any team, "load config" and choose where you've saved the .gfc with your changes. You might need to press okay and then come back to choose the teams if they don't appear immediatly though!

Alright thank you very much!! And one last question, I'm trying to change some driver photographs and I import the bitmap correctly buf then it shows as a blank photo instead of the one I put. How can I fix this?? Thank you very much!! This is an awesome game and I'm looking forward to being a part of this community.

Here; I'll give you some examples you can use (with Photoshop, as I do) to replace and save. This way, you should not get any blank photos or anything! Oh, and if anything, let me also add the GPM2 palette I use with IrfanView when I edit the NEWS pictures, with this everything should be alright. Attachments:Templatesbmp.rar (8.4 KB)
GPM2palette.pal (2.91 KB)

Since the 2020 season looks to be delayed at least for now the 2020 mod will have to wait a while longer so I've thought about making a historical mod for GPM2 I was thing about 1976 the Rush Mod that was started years ago but never got finished. Is anyone interested in helping out?

All I'd need is find a F1 Challenge mod to get the cars and then I'd be more than ready to help.

But don't worry, I'll probably find a way to get the cars-I mean, that's what my talent should be.

Yeah I do have the cars from 1979 (need to make them into GPM2 format) but I was talking about '76s (which I also got as well, from the first link, thank you! ). Now I'd need to know which teams would be playable, and which ones are leftovers (I mean, 1976 had 12 teams with 2 cars... And one of them was just using the Brabham's chassis, so I don't think it counts as an elegible team? And the other is Penske, which have the Team Penske with 1 car, and a "sattelite" team with the same chassis... Which could be counted as the same team?), because it's quite confusing and...mainly this was the reason of why I chose trying to make 1979. 😅

Do all the mods use v1.02 exe? I just got to second season on 97 mod, and after using lvl10 advanced steering in the first race, both cars retired with electrical failures.

I think most of the mods from the 1980s up to 2008 all have the 1.02.exe. From the 2009 up to the latest 2019 version they use the newer 1.02b.exe the patched version.

Ah so i'm basically only safe playing 2009 onwards? Thats a shame. The electrical bug always ruins the game for me

You could try to load the savegame into a patched gpm2.exe. It worked for me, no more electronic failures. I did not play with a mod on the original 1.00/1.02 savegame, but you could give it a try.
