That worked thanks, it messed up the sponsors but at least the races run.
Does anyone know how the next seasons car performance is calculated?

I would say the most important part is the head chief designer. 5 star designers develop the quickest chassis for next years season. Then there is the engine, changes in the regulation (some times might have already developed driver aids which are now unbanned) and the car-parts, where most ai teams get new parts at the start of the season. But the chief designer is most important I'd say.

Ah so i'm basically only safe playing 2009 onwards? Thats a shame. The electrical bug always ruins the game for me It's easily avaoidable. I like the challenge to focus on EMS upgrades to make Driver Aids upgrades possible. It makes the much more challenge and times much closer for years and years.

You could try to load the savegame into a patched gpm2.exe. It worked for me, no more electronic failures. I did not play with a mod on the original 1.00/1.02 savegame, but you could give it a try. This wouldn't cause huge engine problems? Because all the base information is on .exe. From what I understand, probably the game use raw information from .exe to calculate upgrades. I will give it a try, nice suggestion!

I noticed that in mod 82 in the Sponsor deals menu for Tyrrell and Osella the suit is not displayed correctly.

I noticed that in mod 82 in the Sponsor deals menu for Tyrrell and Osella the suit is not displayed correctly. *Sigh* so for whatever reason a colour used for transparency in most of the other suits suddenly doesn't work with these two. Even after over 12 years of modding GPM2 keeps surprising me... Fine, here's a patch. The main download has been patched as well.

Does anybody know off the top of their heads which mods are customisable after the first race?
I know that the 2018 and 2019 mods are, but I'm unsure of others.

Thanks. What did you guys have to do make that change?
Is it one that can easily be applied to say, 1997?

Thanks. What did you guys have to do make that change? Is it one that can easily be applied to say, 1997? Yes and not. Why I say both? Well, because you can take an .exe from those mods, and place where the 1997 mod is. Problem is; you will get things from, let's say you've picked, 1989 thanks to the .exe. That's something I don't mind, because, you can always use the "extra .exe" as 1-time-editing, while keep playing on the original .exe that came with the mod (where things are tend to be from 1997). That's what I do in these cases.

Nuppiz, I remember you did a pack with customization turned on for all your 1993-2003 mods (with the exception of 2001)

maybe it is the stupid question of newbie - but why nearly every driver in various mods has 5* motivation, when in original version motivation seemed as any other skill

It sounds like you haven't loaded the config file, when you start a new game on the "Customize Teams" screen at the bottom it will say "Load Config" click it and go into the GPM2 2019 folder and load 2019.gcf then press ok.

is there any update info about 2007 mod? If you mean it's ever gonna be finished...depends. The original group that was behind it, it is no longer active so...impossible from that point; someone can work on it finish it? Now that's something possible. Who can do that, though?

Alright thank you very much!! And one last question, I'm trying to change some driver photographs and I import the bitmap correctly buf then it shows as a blank photo instead of the one I put. How can I fix this?? Thank you very much!! This is an awesome game and I'm looking forward to being a part of this community. You need to get the palette right in order to change it. Here; I'll give you some examples you can use (with Photoshop, as I do) to replace and save. This way, you should not get any blank photos or anything! Oh, and if anything, let me also add the GPM2 palette I use with IrfanView when I edit the NEWS pictures, with this everything should be alright. How to use this palette in photoshop? I have a problem because there is an error. I get the message: "Could not convert because it is not a valid Microsoft Palette file"

Hello everyone, I played in 1996 with the first GPM, somewhere I still have the original box. Now I'm trying to get close again and trying to use GPM2. It wasn't immediately easy to do it because I didn't understand how to start it on my mac. Now the thing I don't understand is the difference between version 1.02 and 1.02B. I understood that with 1.02B I can't use the Starfire editor, but using 1.02 what would I lose? What improvements are there in 1.02B?

In version 1.02, your EMS must be better than your best driver aid, otherwise you'll suffer constant retirements due to electronics failures. In 1.02B this is fixed. There are likely some other, more minor fixes and improvements as well, but that's the main difference.

You could try to load the savegame into a patched gpm2.exe. It worked for me, no more electronic failures. I did not play with a mod on the original 1.00/1.02 savegame, but you could give it a try. That's correct. The EXE version is only important when making the mod. You have to start it with the exe version that the mod was made for. Once you have the savegame, you can switch to the newest exe version 1.02b, which deals with the electronic failures bug.
