Finally looking forward to getting the F1 season under way, bringing back a small bit of normality to life. Although it is not the same without crowds (as we have seen from English League football) it is better than nothing!
I'm part of the anyone-but-Hamilton brigade. The man is obviously an incredibly talented driver, but I think F1 needs a new winner and fast....

It will be good to have F1 back again soon and yeah would be good to see a different person win the championship this year maybe with the shorter calendar who knows it might make things different.

It will be Hamilton and just Hamilton. We need a second Mercedes Driver with a speed more on his Level. This season will just be another easy win. The last driver he realy had to fight was Rosberg. And - Maybe 2017 - Vettel. But the Ferrari had too much problems at the end of the season (Japan, Malaysia,....) And 2018 Vettel was to much the spinning-around-guy. The last time Hamilton had a Battle very close was Rosberg for me. It was the last battle where Hamilton had to deal with mental. After we got Bottas, we have no fight anymore. But we can all be sure that Toto will tell us, that we will get THE BEST BOTTAS EVER. Like he tells us at every start of a season.... You always know the end of the story. Im hoping on RedBull/Verstappen this season. But i dont think so.....
The question is how long will the season be? If we get a short season and Hamilton gets a DNF in one of the first races, he may gets under pressure.

I have a feeling Mercedes will be strong with their DAS system we saw in testing I'm not sure how good it will make them but if it does give them an edge over Ferrari and Red Bull then Hamilton will likely have his 7th title no problem. I would like to see Bottas give him a challenge and while at times he can occasionally beat Hamilton he always fails to stay consistent through an entire season with his performance compared to Hamilton who is much more consistent.

As much as I'd like to see someone else win, it's probably going to be another Hamilton snoozefest. Because of DAS the other teams are even farther behind than usual, and Bottas just doesn't have the final edge needed to beat Hamilton.

Crazy. Bottas isn't on the level of Hamilton... or at the level Rosberg was at. It is nice for Mercedes, a 2nd driver that is quick enough to win the odd race here and there and get enough points to win the constructors, without troubling Hamilton.

Yeah it was Brundle in a the German Motorsport Magazin. Its every year the same. Waiting for the first Toto Wolff interview. He will tell us the same. Bottas 2.0, Bottas 3.0, the new Bottas, the best Bottas ever,..... Always the same. With the same end.

Bottas 4.0 is a lapdog.

Now, Bottas can show that he watched some Rosberg Videos. Just DO NOT move to the side! If Lewis atacks, just stay at your line. If you crash, do it! Just do not let him past like Rosberg did in his last year. "Chassis default xyz", is that the command for let Lewis past?^^
I think, it needs Bottas 13.0 until he will show some fighting ability. But we will know in this last 29 rounds....

What a race that was! Hamilton deserved both penalties in my opinion. Gutted for Albon - great result for Lando Norris! Shame Williams couldn't nab a point. More of the same next week please!

Yes, what a great opening race that was it was much better than what I thought it was going to be and the good news is we have the same race happening again this upcoming weekend. I'm happy that Bottas has a 13 point lead over Hamilton at the moment I know it's still just after one race but at least for now makes the championship a bit more exciting.

Yeah it was a good race! With a little "but".... It was good, but i think most because of the safetycar and Hamiltons crash. But still yeah good race! It will help Bottas that he is ahead now. Even a second place next race would still give him the lead. He needs another lucky race in the next 2 races with Hamilton not scoring 25 or 18 points and then, if we have a short season, i give him a real (lucky) chance. Lets hope!

Yes, agreed. The high level of car problems also made it a little more interesting.
A1 Ring normally throws up some good racing though, so hope for more of the same this weekend.
Be interesting to see if the rushed Ferrari improvements will make any difference.

Sadly, my hopes were dashed - an uneventful race.

The Styrian race last weekend wasn't as good as the first race of the season a bit less eventful although it had a few moments of good racing towards the end but with Hamilton leading the race in front comfortably made it kind of boring.
Yesterday in qualifying Mercedes dominated it by over a second while Red Bull was actually slower than last years qualifying time. It seems like Red Bull and Ferrari haven't really made much progress this year and some teams like Racing Point and McLaren have caught up with them while Mercedes has yet again improved.
Todays Hungarian Grand Prix was pretty much uneventful as Hamilton dominated this race although we did see some good racing further back at times. Hamilton already has taken the lead over Bottas in the championship I was hoping he could hold onto it longer but Hamilton has just been on another level so far.

Have you Guys seen the start of the Silverstone GP? Again, its Bottas 16.0 at least. Why the hell isnt he just pull in?! He had the inside, he was right next to Lewis, and..... yeah goes off the throttle. Hell! If it crashes, than let it be! Show some Balls! So we are waiting for Bottas 17.0 next week....

Bottas frustrates the hell out of me. I pray that he gets booted into touch soon and we get someone who can actually race in it.
That's not going to happen though.

I was hoping that Bottas would be able to hold onto the championship lead a bit longer and at least put up a bit of a fight to Hamilton but already Hamilton is running away with the title Bottas has barely been a threat to him recently.
It would be good to see someone else take Bottas's place but I can't see that happening mainly because he's a good number 2 driver fast enough to finish behind Hamilton most of the time but not fast enough to give us a Hamilton vs Rosberg scenario that gives the team a headache sorting out.
I remember reading last year that Hamilton and wanted to keep Bottas as his teammate and you can't blame him many would do the same in his position but for us fans, it makes things more boring seeing Hamilton win all the time without much of a challenge unless you're a Hamilton fan though.

The last time Lewis got problems was with Rosberg. The first years not. But somehow, Rosberg didnt wanted to play the nr2 and he crashed with Lewis several times. (like in austria). This was the moment when Lewis knowed: I will crash if i stay on the throttle. I cant understand why Bottas isnt going this way. What should happen? Both DNF. So 0 points lost.

The HAM vs ROS years at least gave us a title fight under a Mercedes domination. Bottas the lapdog just nullifies any threat of that. It's a real shame.
