Hi All, been playing through the 03 mod which i updated to the new GPW patch.
Obviously once that was done i had to go through all the text files renaming everything to 03 etc. There is one problem I can't seem to fix. In the race, every team has the correct colours and model, a ferrari is a ferrari etc.
but in the sponsor page it's all messed up, Ferrari for example uses Williams skin, and Toyota is just blank white. I have no idea how to fix it or where the files that determine the model in the sponsor "this year" and "next year" are held. I half think it might be an exe thing? but no idea how t5o fix, any help would be appreciated.

There are hex values that look for the liveries and even the music files in the gpw.exe. The sponsor part of the game is still looking for a Williams texture for the Ferrari (1st team) and there is no hex value for a Toyota skin along with BAR and Jaguar livery, as they are files with new names that are not searched for, leaving an untextured car. It would also be a problem for people using a different gpw.exe to the one edited for a different season.
This is why the all car image names were left as they were when I made them. You don't see those links to the liveries while the game runs and the liveries show in both sponsor and track screens.
I think the gpwpatch programme which you can use to patch a save can be used on the gpw.exe after changing the team names in the "Names" tab. Not sure how that works now with a gpw.exe patch updated with gpw 1.0.0.0 editor.

Ahhh I see, this seems to be a long term problem then - and i can't hex edit. Would it be possible to ask for a huge favour? If I uploaded my 03/00 seasons that have been patched with the new .exe, could you amend the hex values to fix this error?

Any hex editor from the internet can be used. Open the gpw.exe in the hex editor and the livery hex codes are in english.
