Oops, here's where I'll post what I've gathered (information, mostly) about what could be used for a 1950 mod. Bear in mind, back then, Formula 1 was not like it is now, nor like it used to be back in 1996 (when the game was released), so it won't be possible, unless we find a way, to make a 'perfect' 1950 mod.
Works teams:
- Alfa Romeo
- Ferrari
- Talbot-Darracq
- Maserati
- Simca-Gordini
- ERA*
- Alta*
* Both teams did not exist as such, but their cars were used with enough drivers to convert the 'privateé' teams into a proper 'works' team.
Privateé teams:
- Ambrosiana
- Enrico Platé
- Achille Varzi
- Milano
Extra teams:
- Cooper -> Although Cooper did not enter into F1 until 1953 as a Constructor, their cars were used from 1950 to 1953.
- BRM - > BRM's first season was 1951, but they already were trying to enter into F1 the year before; trying to use a revolutionary-yet-so-unreliable V16 engine.
Engines:
- Alfa Romeo (Alfa Romeo 158)
- Ferrari (Ferrari 125 F1)
- Talbot (Talbot 23CV)
- Maserati (Maserati 4CLT)
- Gordini (Simca-Gordini 15C)
- ERA (ERA L6)
- Alta (Alta L4 s)
- Jaguar (Jaguar XK)
- Milano-Speluzzi (Speluzzi L4)
- JAP (JAP V2)
- Offenhauser* (Offenhauser L4)
- FIAT** (FIAT L4s)
- Delage** (Delage L 6)
- BRM*** (BRM P15)
- OSCA*** (OSCA 4500)
- Veritas*** (Veritas L6)
* Offenhauser was used as Indy engine, and it's known due its greatness in that series. Since, until 1960, the 500 Indy was part of the Formula 1 calendar, I think it's only fair you could use an Indy engine to race in Formula 1...right?
** Both FIAT and Delage were used in non-championship races throughout the 1950 year, FIAT even was listed into the 1950 Swiss Grand Prix, but failing to take part of it-whereas Delage had been part of motorsport racing since the 1920's.
*** BRM, OSCA and Veritas were used in the 1951 Formula 1 season.
I'll update the post gradually.
