Grand Prix World Remastered

Someone must have been waiting for this.
An improved version of the original Grand Prix World game.

- Characteristics of drivers and their salaries have not changed.
- Most old bugs fixed
- Non-F1 drivers are replaced with real drivers.
- Sponsors have not changed, but real-life tobacco sponsors have been added, also some "green" sponsor pics have been changed.
- Car liveries updated (thanks to simul810)
- Added achievements.txt (so you don't get bored)
- The mod is presented in six languages (English, French, German, Russian, Italian and Spanish)
- The game should work on modern systems

Haha yesss. Ive been playing all your other remastered mods lately and have actually been searching high and low for an old link somewhere for a 98 mod, and refreshing here in the hope you post one! Cheers Meanie

Love it meanie, what folder are the flags for the driver backgrounds stored in, I love your remastered flags

The nationality flags.bmp file is located in the games or updates "bmp" folder with 78 files in there.  It isn't in any named folder inside.

From Cart to F1

Hire Zanardi, Villeneuve and Montoya at Williams

Hire both JV's, J Villeneuve and J Verstappen

Hire Verstappen and Magnussen

Sign Alesi at Williams.  One contract he signned and drove for Ferrari instead

Sign both Mika Hakkinen and Mika Salo

I do like this and the fact that all the teams have their test-driver spot filled but for some reason for me this doesnt work as it should. My mouse cursor responses with a huge delay and this happens only on this copy of the game. I have no idea how to fix this but I cannot play when just the single move of a mouse takes an extra time to go through

Try to delete the file "ddraw.dll". Worked for me!

the ddraw.ddl heps everybody who has problems with a too fast game. they are clicking on a button, and the game reacts like 50 times. also, some have the problem with low fps in race. in your case, your game seems to run fine anyway. so you dont need the ddraw to help you pc.

Added Spanish translation (and fixed crash after Japanese GP for Spanish, Russian and Italian translations), changed achievements.txt

Double clicking the exe file will create a log file but nothing starts.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

it stuck in the main screen of the game and crush the whole system with black screen. need reboot.

I have an issue with GPW when I minimise to desktop, the game crashes when I open it again. Also, the tobacco sponsors names are still the fictional ones, weren’t they changed to real life names?
