Hello i'm new here,
I read the modding guide and tryed to created an own mod. I wanted to created a NASCAR mod after i downloaded the 2003 season mod. 2003 simply is one of my all time favourits seasons, and after some while i got this idea for a nascar mod. So everything worked fine, New driver names, photo, team & engines. I changed Ferrari to Chervrolet, Cosworth to Ford & Renualt to Dodge. But after i changed the Renault name to Dodge, the game doesn't load anymore. It is really only if i change Renault.
So simply don't change it? But the sad thing is then, my mod want work. Cause i not only changed the names of the engines, i also changed HP and weight. and Renaut always will be the leightes Engine if i can't change it. Anybody else had this problem or any solutuion?

In order your mod work correctly, the engine figures must be in a specific range. Make sure, you keep to the values from The GPM2 Ultimate Modding Guide: Max Engine Power: 835 hp Min Engine Power: 0 hp Max Engine Weight: 500 kg Min Engine Weight: 0 kgHowever, I experimented with the maximum power values and come to a view that there is a sum powers of the teams exceeding which the game crashes. I would recommend for the engines take numbers from 600 to 750 hp for reliable work of the game.

I changed the HP to 800 & weight to 265kg. acourding to Wikipedia thats what an NASCAR engine weighs, HP could be around 1000 acourding to Wiki. So i simply used 800HP, and it all worked great except Renault.
I changed: Ferrari = Chevrolet (800HP, 265kg) Cosworth = Ford (810HP, 270kg) Toyota remaind Toyota but (795HP, 255kg) Renaut = Dodge (805HP, 275kg)
i might give i a try with less HP and weight.
BTW. is it possible to get more Oval tracks for this game? I knew the GPM1 game had Indianapolis as an Oval track, would be great to see Daytona, Pocono or Darlington as possible Venues.

I'd like to point out the max/min engine power and weight was tested with a single engine while all other engines were left untouched. I don't know exactly how GPM2's code works and it very well may be that if too many engines are close to the max values, the game will not function properly. Perhaps there's an overall performance counter and it overflows at some point. Which would make sense, given that 835 and 500 are both rather odd limits on a programming level. As for more oval tracks, find someone who can make those.
